Saying FAREWELL to a SWEET YEAR

Things didn't go as planned. I didn't get to display my students artwork at community events. I didn't get to talk about and make prints of cherry blossoms at the end of March with 1st grade. I didn't get to show my 3rd graders how we can use math to create art. I didn't even get to paint and stick the tails into the kindergarten mice to go along with their mouse paint, or glaze and add feathers to first grade pinch pot birds. There were many more messes to be made, paper to be cut, creativity to explore.

But don't let a global pandemic hold you back. You are an artist as long as you are inspired to create and you take the steps to make something amazing. Make sure that you never let anything stifle that creativity.

I'm busy cleaning up two art rooms and making sure that all my students' work ends up in their bags of belongings. As I take down hallway displays, I peel away the layers of the past year. I am reminded of all of the great things that I did get to do with the amazing students at this school. I am so thankful for the year that I got to spend with all of the students and staff at Hershey. It truly was a sweet year. Thanks for the memories you all helped me make.

Stay creative!
